STUDENTS' ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Lisa Gurley (PhD Candidate, Political Science) recently presented a paper at the 2005 annual meeting of the American Political Science Association in Washington , DC (over the Labor Day weekend). The paper was titled "Challenging Western Thought: Irigaray and the Concept of Reason". She also recently published a book entitled Feminists Contest Politics and Philosophy along with fellow Political Science student, Claudia Leeb (PhD Candidate and another colleague at the NSSR, Anna Aloisia Moser. The book was published by the Philosophy & Politics Series of Peter Lang Publishers.

Mariela Vargova (PhD Candidate, Political Science) recently published her article, “Democratic Deficits of Dualist Deliberative Constitutionalism: Bruce Ackerman and Jurgen Habermas,” in Ratio Juris: An International Journal of Jurisprudence and Philosophy of Law (Vol. 18, No.3, September 2005, pp365-386).
