Letter
to the Alumni
Dear
Alumni,
As
some of you know may know, our department has been making an initiative
to contact alumni in order to rebuild old connections and foster
new relationships. The benefits of having a strong alumni base are
obvious and it is our hope that this academic year we can create
an active list of GF Economic alumni.
Update all your information at the The New School Alumni Relations page.
We
are proud of our graduates and we know that many former students
are doing very valuable things for our society and working in exciting
places. We believe it is important to find out about our students'
accomplishments and achievements and share this information with
others. Please also check out our homepage regularly. We are in
the process of adding a section devoted to our current students
and the projects and papers they are working on.
As
our department continues to commit itself to those traditions and
methods of economic study that we find crucial to modern economics,
we are excited about the prospects for our department. A grant awarded
by Bernard Schwartz has allowed us to financially support more students
and we will be hiring a new senior professor this academic year.
"Never
doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change
the world." Although Margaret Mead was not an economist, our department
can borrow her quote as we constantly define ourselves in a world
of neoclassical economics.
We
look forward to hearing from you,
The
