Exchange and Overseas Study Programs
The exchange programs at The New School for Social Research enable students from partner institutions to study at The New School for Social Research for one year, and students from The New School for Social Research to study overseas for one or two semesters or for summer language study. Current exchanges are with Humboldt University in Berlin, Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, the University of Bremen, and the Technical University of Dresden. Small scholarships are available for these programs.

Advanced doctoral students with demonstrated teaching experience may from time to time be invited to teach at one of the exchange universities while conducting dissertation research.

In addition, students from The New School for Social Research frequently travel overseas for summer language programs and field research, and during the year for research and study at other universities. Students from The New School for Social Research also may participate in the summer and winter session in Krakow, Poland, and in Cape Town, South Africa, coordinated by the Transregional Center for Democratic Studies.
