The Vera List Center for Art and Politics presents its 2006–07 Fellows, Andrea Geyer, Sharon Hayes, Ashley Hunt, Katya Sander, and David Thorne, who will present and discuss their recent project 9 Scripts from a Nation at War, which was conceived for and shown at Documenta 12, an important international exhibition of contemporary art in Kassel, Germany. Through intersecting narratives, the piece responds from a U.S. perspective to conditions and questions that have arisen since the start of the Iraqi war. The work is structured around a central question: How does war construct specific positions for individuals to fill, enact, speak from, or resist? The screening is followed by a panel discussion moderated by Carin Kuoni, director of the Vera List Center for Art and Politics.
