  • Investments, Treasury Operations, and Risk Management

The Office of Investment, Treasury Operations, and Risk Management manages The New School’s treasury and cash management needs, including banking relations and daily funding requirements. We also manage the university's invested assets, the largest pool of which is the endowment. Through analysis and reporting, the performance of due diligence, execution of transactions, and research, we ensure compliance with The New School’s governance and investment processes. We also provide support to the Advisory Committee on Investor Responsibility, which advises the Investment Committee of the Board of Trustees on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues as they relate to the investment of the university’s endowment.

During the first quarter of 2016, we will begin posting information in the sections below that will provide reference information for this office.

No funds are managed internally; fiduciary oversight for the endowment, asset allocation, and selection of investment managers resides with the Investment Committee of the Board of Trustees. However, there are several policies in place to ensure proper accounting for the use of university funds.

    • Operating Cash Policy
