New School Jazz student Robby Deitz (drums) presents his senior recital. This show will include two drum sets, funk music, and good vibes.
Robby Deitz’s career in music has started from as early as 8, when he started playing the drums in the school band. By the time college had arrived Robby had already shared the stage with such greats as Maynard Ferguson, Bob Mintzer, Jimmy Haslip, and Nicholas Payton. He graduated with The Louis Armstrong Jazz Award. Once accepted at The New School For Jazz, he was able to perform/study with Adam Deitch, Amir Ziv, Lenny Picket, Mike Clark, Shawn Pelton, and Adam Holzman. Robby’s band, Ladies Drink Free, also released their EP Sit Down Doggy (2013) this past Winter with great success and a full summer tour lined up. He is also the lead drum instructor and president of The Robby Deitz School of Beatz drum school located in Long Island, New York.
