Writing for Children: Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Reviews and Awards

Jennifer Hubert Swan, a YA librarian, blogger and book reviewer, will decode the mysteries of reviewing, discuss the importance of the school and library market and explain the process by which childrens' book awards are given. Jennifer has reviewed for Kirkus and the New York Times and is the author of the influential Reading Rants blog.http://www.readingrants.org She has also serve on several awards committees, incluidng the Printz, the Alex and the YALSA Nonfiction Award committees. 

Moderated by Patricia McCormick, most recently author of New Fall Down, nominated for a 2012 National Book Award in Young People’s Literature.  Sponsored by the School of Writing.
