Mary Jo Bang recently translated Dante’s Inferno. Her six books of poetry include Elegy, winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award. She is also the author of Apology for Want (1997), which received the Katherine Bakeless Nason Prize; Louise in Love (2001); The Downstream Extremity of the Isle of Swans (2001);and The Bride of E (2009). She was the poetry co-editor of the Boston Review from 1995 to 2005. She is a Professor of English and Director of the Creative Writing Program at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri. Moderated by Mark Bibbins, faculty, the School of Writing.
