Due to continuing power outages in Lower Manhattan, The New School will remain closed until Monday, November 5, therefore this event has been cancelled. Please check the events calendar should this be rescheduled. Jane Ira Bloom, a member of the faculty of The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, is a pioneer in the use of live electronics and movement in jazz performance. She is also the source of “one of the most gorgeous tones and hauntingly lyrical ballad conceptions of any soprano saxophonist.” Professor Bloom presents an exploration of her art with the assistance of bassist Dean Johnson and pianist Dominic Fallacaro.
