In the ten years since the iTunes Store was launched, the music industry has discovered a powerful music sales vehicle, even as the traditional album market has dwindled. Today, music industry producers are finding enhanced revenue streams from new media like mobile apps and streaming video subscriptions and from the multiplication of social media hooks that build fan loyalty. A panel representing the artist management, label, and publishing sides of the music industry discuss the current situation and the prospects of multiplatform media for capturing audiences and creating new revenue streams.
Co-sponsored by PGA New Media Council East and the School of Media Studies.
