Tracy K. Smith won the 2012 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry. She is the author of three books of poetry, Life on Mars, Duende, and The Body’s Question, and has received a Cave Canem Poetry Prize, a Rona Jaffe Writers Award, a Whiting Award, and the James Laughlin Award of the Academy of American Poets. Smith has taught at the City University of New York, University of Pittsburgh, and Columbia University, and is currently assistant professor of creative writing at the Lewis Center for the Arts.
