A Message from President David E. Van Zandt

The New School is only a few months away from one of the proudest moments in its nearly 100-year history: the Spring opening of the University Center.

With its state-of-the-art resources, sustainable design, and gathering spaces designed for interdisciplinary collaboration, the University Center will give our campus and our city a wonderful landmark. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg recently praised it as "a great addition to a great New York institution."

As the perfect embodiment of the new academic vision, the University Center will become our campus focal point where you can witness the creativity of The New School's students, faculty, and alumni unfolding all around you. I look forward to welcoming you.
