Rachel Francois
Senior Academic and Experiential Education Advisor

Profile:
Rachel comes to The New School for Drama from our divisional neighbor Parsons. At Parsons she served as an Academic Advisor to first-year BFA students, and Strategic Design + Management BBA students for the five years that she has been with The New School University.  Her educational philosophy encourages students to become empowered and active agents in their academic and global communities by remaining intellectually curious and culturally responsive.

Prior to coming to TNS, Rachel worked with the federal grant GEAR UP in the Bronx.  There she developed and facilitated college readiness programs for 500+ high school students.  A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Rachel received her BA in Sociology and Educational Studies from Bryn Mawr College.  She is also earners her MA in Fashion Studies at the School of Art, Design, History and Theory at Parsons. While there she was able to explore her interests in fashion as a socio-cultural practice of embodied performance in processes of personal and collective meaning-making.
