Financial aid is available to matriculated degree candidates at The New School for Drama.
All applicants for financial aid who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents must file the Free Application for Federal Student Assistance (FAFSA) each year, in order to qualify for federally funded educational loans. The application may be filled out on-line (www.fafsa.ed.gov); or a paper application can be obtained by contacting the FAFSA processing center at 1.800.433.3243. The New School's FAFSA Code is 002780.
International applicants are also considered for scholarships. Because international students are not eligible for federal loans, no form or application is required. Scholarship criteria are identical for U.S. and international students. Before being granted a visa to study in the United States, international students will be required to prove an ability to pay for all three years of their education; a scholarship, if one is awarded, may count toward the total funds needed. International applicants who are admitted to the program will receive more information about visa requirements.
The costs of attending The New School require a significant financial commitment. We strongly encourage you to assess your financial options before applying to any graduate theater program.
Note: students must be registered for at least six (6) credits per semester to qualify for federal student aid.
