Voice and Speech

Acting: Voice

The New School for Drama's Voice and Speech curriculum, inspired and informed by Constantin Stanislavki's lifelong investigation into what he called "the best methods for evolving a natural, beautiful, pregnant speech," is a rigorous program of study that uniquely coordinates the many shared tenets and practices of current vocal training systems. This enormously inclusive curriculum has one goal in mind: to offer the actor an instrument fully capable of responding imaginatively, truthfully, and freely to the creative and interpretive needs of character and play. This curriculum includes voice training, speech training, dialects training, singing training and technique synthesis in production.
