Islam al-Dabbas and Majid al-Din Kholani
Islam al-Dabbas and Majd al-Din Kholani, both students involved in organizing peaceful protests in and near Damascus since March 2011, were arrested on July 22 and August 8, 2011, respectively, and are being held incommunicado in undisclosed locations. According to reports from Amnesty International, both were beaten following their arrests and are at risk of torture.
