The New School offers introductory courses in classical literary and modern conversational Tibetan. Students learn to speak the language in everyday contexts, practice translation skills, and use classical literary Tibetan as a point of access to the vast treasury of Tibetan Buddhist written culture. Readings are drawn from poetry, meditation manuals, philosophical works, and biographies.
If you are unsure whether a course is right for you, contact the Department of Foreign Languages for advising: firstname.lastname@example.org.
