Japanese culture is highly influential throughout the world, from its cuisine to its technological innovations, from animé to manga, from harajuku to ikebana. To help students learn the language of this dynamic culture, The New School offers fall, spring, and summer courses on Japanese language and culture at a variety of levels.
If you would like to study Japanese but have limited time during the week, stop by The New School for a weekend immersion. Our “On the Go” courses in Japanese are offered at levels 1 and 2, helping you make rapid progress in just a weekend.
Visit the website starting in July for information on our fall Japanese course offering. If you are unsure about your level, take a self-placement exam to determine where you should start. To obtain a Japanese placement exam, contact the Department of Foreign Languages at firstname.lastname@example.org.
