Cynthia Elmas: has taught English as a Second Language to various populations in New York City since 1987. Her professional focus is ESL in higher education, having worked at Parsons The New School of Design, Pratt Institute, Columbia University, Pace University, and at the United Nations. Major presentations include "ESL for Artistic Purposes," a group presentation by Pratt ESL faculty at the TESOL convention, 2008, New York. She was assistant editor for the multidisciplinary journal (sponsored by Harvard's Peabody Museum), "Res: Anthropology and Aesthetics" from 1992 to 2000.
