Fiction Forum: Amina Gautier

Amina Gautier, winner of the Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction for her short story collection At-Risk, will read and discuss her work.

Gautier has published seventy short stories in many journals, including African American Review, African Voices, Antioch Review, B&A: New Fiction, Crab Orchard Review, Kenyon Review, Pleiades, and Torch, among other places. She is the recipient of the William Richey Prize, the Jack Dyer Prize, the Danahy Fiction Prize, the Schlafly Microfiction Award and a Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Award. She has received fellowships and scholarships from Breadloaf Writer’s Conference, Sewanee Writer’s Conference, Callaloo Writer’s Workshop, Hurston/Wright Writer’s Workshop, and the Ucross Residency. She is a former Contributing Editor for Storyquarterly, and has judged manuscripts for Kore Press and served on the Breadloaf Writer’s Conference Admission Board.

Series and discounted tickets must still be made in person or over the phone at The New School Box Office at 66 West 12th Street, main floor, Monday-Thursday 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., and Friday 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. The box office opens the first day of classes and closes after the last paid event of each semester. For events scheduled during the summer term, the box office will open one hour before each event.
