The New School was a pioneer of lifelong learning when it was founded in 1919. It continues to offer college courses for personal and career development open to any adult. The founding division of the university, now called The New School for Public Engagement (NSPE), offers adult learners a variety of opportunities for intellectual inquiry, creative exploration, and professional growth. Our dedicated faculty of scholars and professionals teaches courses in Social Sciences, Humanities, Media Studies and Film, Writing, Foreign Languages, English Language Studies, Visual and Performing Arts, Management and Business, and Food Studies.
