The New School Continuing Education

Continuing Education

The New School was a pioneer of lifelong higher education at its founding in 1919 and remains dedicated to that mission today. The founding division of the university, now The New School for Public Engagement, offers an enormous range of opportunities for intellectual inquiry, creative exploration, and professional development to adult learners. A dedicated faculty of scholars and professionals instruct a wide range of subject areas: Social Sciences, Humanities, Media Studies and Film, Writing, Foreign Languages, English Language Studies, Visual and Performing Arts, Management and Business, and Food Studies.


The continuing education curriculum features:


Courses in art, design, and architecture; or music instruction, theory, and composition can be found in the continuing education programs at Parsons The New School for Design or Mannes College The New School for Music respectively.
