High Achieving Women Research

The main idea behind this research project is to look at the difficulties high achieving woman have in combining their work and their family lives. The findings could help to design a whole new generation of policies to help high achieving women balance their lives. The benefits are very likely to trickle down to everyone else because highly educated people have disproportionate market power in the economy. This study will look for evidence to support the idea that we still have a work-place that is predicated on old-fashioned, male career trajectories - in the sense that our work force has changed in recent years, but our work places have not, generating all kind of inefficiencies for individuals and society. An eye-catching survey of women in different professions is expected to be done this winter with Merck as a partner.
