CEPA Research Projects Enhancing Market Transparency and the Financial Risk Management Function While the improvement in market transparency and risk management is widely recognized as critical to the stability of the global financial system, progress in these critical areas has lagged, contributing to ongoing vulnerabilities to massive capital swings and widespread crises. The project aims at creating a collaborative framework that involves experts and participants from both the private and public sectors in the proactive identification of specific ways to improve market transparency and risk management - thereby strengthening the global financial system and improving prospects for sustainable development. The project is designed to establish a strong and independent foundation for subsequent research programs by surveying the broad context of market transparency and financial risk management across the private and official sectors; identifying and mobilizing key market and official sector participants; assessing ongoing disclosure and risk management practices, issues and constraints; and setting forth a range of specific possible means for improvement. |
