CEPA Research Projects Globalization, Technology and Institutional Change: A Jobs Perspective
on the Growth in U.S. Earnings Inequality This project is an extension of CEPA's project on the U.S. Wage Collapse. The previous research found little support for the conventional idea that unemployment and wage restructuring were caused by a demand shift related to skills mismatch since the 1980s. The current research explores the causes of the increase in U.S. earnings inequality by looking at the role played by inequality within individual job categories. The research also tries to determine to which extent various explanatory variables are linked to the change in the wage levels and wage dispersion between job categories. Links |
