Each year ECEP organizes a Lecture Series in which scholars from the region give presentations on their current research and important contemporary topics. ECEP has been proud to present to the New School and New York community such important guests as Janos Kis, Zbigniew Pelczynski, Jan Urban, Marcin Krol, Ivan Vejvoda, Martin Butora, Jerzy Jedlicki, Alex Grigorievs, Petr Pithart, Ewa Letowska, Rita Klimova and other influential regional activists, politicians and scholars. The Lecture Series also provides a framework for cultural events such as Romania Inside/Out, Protest and Sentiment: Recent Photographs; and Academy of Movement, which presented a lecture and performance, entitled: Art in the Theater of Life: Poland 1975-1991.
