Teresa Brennan is visiting professor of philosophy at the New School for Social Research. She is the author of History After Lacan (1993) and Age of Paranoia (forthcoming).

Jeffrey C. Goldfart is professor of sociology at the New School for Social Research. His publications include The Cynical Society (1991) and After the Fall: The Pursuit of Democracy in Eastern Europe (1992).

John Hartigan, Jr. is assistant professor of anthropology at Knox College. He is the author of Cultural Constructions of Whiteness (forthcoming).

Nicholas Humphrey is professor of psychology at the New School for Social Research. His publications include Leaps of Faith (1996) and A History of the Mind (1992).

Timur Kuran is professor of economics and Faisal Professor of Islamic Thought and Culture at the University of Southern California. His most recent book is Private Truths, Public Lies: The Social Consequences of Preference Falsification (forthcoming).

Ulrich J. Schneider is associate professor of philosophy at the University of Leipzig. He served as co-editor for Twentieth Century Russian Philosophy (1996) and is the author of Spirits Past: An Archaeology of the History of Philosophy (1990).

Richard Sennett is University Professor of the Humanities at New York University. His publications include Authority (1980) and Flesh and Stone: The Body and the City in Western Civilization (1994).

Jirina Siklová is head of the Department of Social Work at Charles University. She is the author of Women and Human Rights (1995).

Edna Ullmann-Margalit is professor of philosophy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
