New York Consortium for European Studies Visiting Professor
The New York Consortium for European Studies (New York University, Columbia University, New School University) seeks an established European scholar currently teaching in Europe with a minimum of five years teaching experience and specializing in one or more of the following fields: comparative politics of Western Europe,international relations of Western Europe, European public policy,modern European history, social movements, religion in Europe to be the Consortium Visiting Professor during the fall 2000 semester (September 1-December 31). European Union specialists are being sought under a separate announcement (see below) to fill the Marshall-Monnet Visiting Professorship position in the spring 2001 semester.
The Consortium Visiting Professor will be expected to teach two graduate-level courses, one at NYU and one at Columbia, participate in Consortium conferences and workshops, meet with students, and contribute to other activities of the New York Consortium for European Studies. The stipend and allowances are awaiting budgetary approval.

The European Union Center of New York seeks a senior scholar of the European Union, currently affiliated with a non-U.S. university, to be the Center's Marshall-Monnet Visiting Professor of European Union Studies in the spring 2001 semester (mid-January - mid-May).
The Marshall-Monnet Professor will be expected to teach two graduate-level courses/colloquia, one at Columbia and one at NYU, participate in conferences and workshops at the four Center universities, meet with graduate students, and contribute to the many other activities planned by the New York Center. The stipend and housing and travel allowances are awaiting budgetary approval.

The European Union Center
of New York seeks applicants from the United States for its post-doctoral
program who wish to engage in research and scholarship and teaching one
introductory course on the European Union during the 2000-2001 academic
year: one at Columbia University and one at New
York University.
Since the purpose of this fellowship is to support young scholars who are developing new ways of understanding the European Union, applications are invited from candidates in any of the social sciences whose interests are linked directly in the study of the EU. Applicants must be American citizens or permanent residents.
The Fellowships carry a stipend of $30,000. Please submit all application materials by Friday, February 25, 2000 in order to be considered.
