This Electronic Research Resource Handbook is a work in progress. This first part brings together the results of explorations of the Internet by the recipients of the 1995-1996 Democracy II Fellowships of the Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research. The Fellowships, funded by The Pew Charitable Trusts and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, are designed and coordinated by the East and Central Europe Program of the New School for Social Research.
Under the supervision of David Perry, the Associate Librarian of the Fogelman Library of the New School, the Fellows, who are junior faculty from four countries of East and Central Europe, utilized the Internet to enhance their research activities around their respective areas of interest. We asked them to share with us a sort of annotated bibliography assembled during the course of their research. The difference is that we asked them to compiled not a list of books but a list of Internet sites which would be useful -as a starting point- for future researchers.
This annotated bibliography represents a list of common and useful addresses, the majority of them being on the www, which the individual Fellows found to be helpful sites of resources in pursuing specific topics. We plan to enlarge the Handbook through the contributions of our future Fellows.
If you have suggestions for additions to this Handbook, we would be delighted to hear from you.
