Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition and Fees

Visit Student Financial Services to learn more about applying for aid, tuition and fees, billing and payment options, and to review frequently asked questions. Students expecting employer/sponsor reimbursement will also find information about tuition payment options.

Financial Aid

Students applying for financial aid need not wait for an admission decision to initiate the financial aid process. U.S. citizens and permanent residents must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form to establish eligibility for federal and state funding. File the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov and specify The New School code: 002780.

International applicants must submit The New School International Student Scholarship Application available on the Student Financial Services website.

Military Benefits

The New School Bachelor’s Program has been dedicated to providing educational opportunities to our servicemen and women since the program's inception in 1943. Students can complete their degree on-campus in New York City or from anywhere in the world via online study. We offer the flexibility to enroll on a part-time or full-time basis, but you must enroll in at least six credits per semester to be eligible for financial aid.

The following military benefit programs can be applied towards a bachelor's degree at The New School:

Post 9/11 Veterans Education Assistance Act
 Yellow Ribbon Education Enhancement Program
 Montgomery GI Bill Active Duty
 Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserve

View the Military Benefit Guidelines page for a description of these programs and step-by-step instructions on using them at The New School.
