The New School and The International Culinary Center, two highly regarded New York City educational institutions, have come together to offer a path to a college degree for students in select International Culinary Center programs.

Qualified International Culinary Center graduates who are admitted to an undergraduate program of The New School for Public Engagement can receive up to 60 transfer credits applicable to a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts. The New School for Public Engagement offers a flexible course of study designed for busy working people. You can study full-time or part-time. You can can take courses online as well as on campus in Greenwich Village.

Many careers in today's culinary world require more than kitchen skills. A college degree prepares aspiring chefs to promote their own careers by developing a level of social and business sophistication that can open many doors. International Culinary Center graduates who enroll at The New School for Public Engagement will be able to study subject areas across the liberal arts, including The New School's unique and growing curriculum in Food Studies - a perfect complement to The International Culinary Center's culinary education and a great bridge to higher education and civic engagement for people who are passionate about food and cooking. Beyond the dining room, a college degree can open the way to careers in culinary management, consultancies, public relations, food writing, and more.

Graduates of the following International Culinary Center programs are eligible for the transfer program to (may be eligible to receive up to 60 credits towards an undergraduate degree from The New School for Public Engagement):

Apply Today and Start at The New School This Fall
If you are an International Culinary Center graduate (or soon to be) of one or more of the programs listed above, complete The New School's online application. If you are admitted, you can start classes in the coming fall semester (classes begin August 27). Instructions for submitting the application documents are provided on the website (these include three short essays, current professional resume, and official transcripts from The International Culinary Center and any colleges or universities previously attended. Note: If you are not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, you must provide official TOEFL or IELTS scores as proof of English language proficiency.
