Online Learning

The online option lets you complete your bachelor's degree from wherever you are. You design your degree program by selecting from among the courses and other academic resources available to our on‑campus students in New York City. The majority of your courses will be drawn from the liberal arts, in areas such as literature, philosophy, history, psychology, political science, gender studies, foreign languages, creative writing, and film and media studies. In addition, you can take courses and workshops that develop practical and creative skills in such areas as digital design and global business and management, as well as approved internships and independent study with members of the New School faculty.

The online option is designed specifically for adults committed to completing their undergraduate education, studying full- or part-time, without interrupting their professional careers. Students learn "in class" in a state-of-the art asynchronous environment, which is available 24/7 anywhere in the world where there's access to a computer, browser, and an internet connection.

To experience our online learning environment, visit the preview site in BlackBoard (the interface used for all New School online courses). The preview acquaints you with the main features of asynchronous online learning. A discussion board allows for online conversations among prospective students and New School staff.
