Anti-virus software and current virus definitions are required for a Windows PC to login to "newschoolnet". The New School has made it easy for you to comply.

  • The New School offers Symantec Anti-Virus Corporate Edition free to credit-seeking students, faculty and staff! This software entitles you to free updates for as long as you are enrolled at or affiliated with The New School. To get the software, login to MyNewSchool and look in the Academic Technology box under the "Student", "Faculty" or "Employee" tab.
  • In addition to Symantec, all leading software meets the requirement. This includes Norton, McAfee, TrendMicro, AVG, etc. If you need anti-virus software and/or virus definition updates, the Clean Access Agent (CCA) login software will help you get and install them, regardless of which application you use.
  • Guest lecturers may simply download the free version of AVG software, which is compliant, at free.grisoft.com.
