A POP mail client downloads copies of your mail messages -- but not folders -- from the mail
server to your computer. Messages deleted with the POP client are not deleted from the server.
Therefore, you must use Groupwise or Webmail to manage your server mailbox quota. If you exceed your quota, the
POP client will still download messages, but you will not be able to send.
With an IMAP client, you connect to the server to read your mail. Messages are not downloaded.
When you delete messages using IMAP, they are deleted from the server.
You must use a POP/IMAP client that has an outgoing server setting for "Server Authentication".
Some common clients for the PC are Eudora, Outlook and Thunderbird. Common clients for the Mac
are Mac Mail and Entourage.
