There are only 60,000 people in the world who have the privilege of being a New School graduate. As a New School alumnus/alumna you are part of a vibrant and warm community. Whether you live in New York, other areas of the U.S., or in another country, you are entitled to benefits, events, programs, services, and opportunities that are exclusive to the New School alumni community.

New School Waives Application Fees for Alumni Nominees
The Offices of Admission and Alumni Engagement have teamed up to offer New School alumni an opportunity to help us identify the best and brightest prospective students. Alumni are invited to submit the name(s) (up to four) of prospective students they think would thrive in one of The New School’s degree programs. The Office of Admission will send each student application materials and inform them that, should they choose to apply, the application fee will be waived thanks to the alumnus/a who nominated them.

Alumni Discount on Post-Master's Professional Development Certificates
Continue your educational experience at The New School with a 25 percent tuition discount on any of the university’s three post-master’s certificates in Leadership and Change, Organizational Development, and Sustainability Strategies. Offered by the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy, these professional development programs give you the skills you need to advance your career to the next level.

This is an exclusive offer to all university alumni (those who have a degree from The New School) holding a master’s degree from The New School or another accredited university. In addition to the discount, your application fee will be waived and the admission process streamlined. New students are admitted in both fall and spring semesters. Learn more.

Admission to Public Programs
New School public programs are opportunities for continued learning and a way to maintain a connection with your alma mater. Admission to most public programs is free for alumni with an Alumni Association card. To see a calendar of upcoming public programs, go to University Events.

Libraries
Alumni who received a degree or diploma from The New School, including a post-graduate certificate from Milano or a certification of graduation from Parsons are entitled to reading privileges in School libraries with an alumni card. (This privilege does not extend to NYU's Bobst Library or other consortium libraries.) Alumni who donate $100 or more to the Annual Fund in any fiscal year will receive borrowing privileges at the New School libraries for the subsequent fiscal year. Former New School students who did not receive a degree, diploma, a post-graduate certificate from Milano or a certification of graduation from Parsons but who make a donation of $250 or more to the Annual Fund in any fiscal year will receive library privileges for the next fiscal year. Alumni Email
Graduates* of the Class of 2011 and later automatically receive alumni email accounts in New School Google Apps. If you wish to move the contents of your student account to Google Apps, you must do so within three months of graduation. If you graduated* from any division of The New School prior to 2011, the Office of Alumni Relations will set up an alumni email account in Google Apps on request.

*Graduates are all individuals who have received a degree or diploma from any division of The New School (including Milano School post-graduate certificates and certification of graduation from Parsons). Nonconferred alumni and nonmatriculated continuing education and extension students are not entitled to alumni privileges.

Campus Wireless Access
Alumni have free wireless access everywhere on the New School campus. You log on using your Net ID as your username and your MyNewSchool password as your wireless password.

Discounts with the Membership Card*

MoMA Guest Passes
The New School has a limited number of guest passes for alumni to the Museum of Modern Art available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each pass is valid for one complimentary general admission during regular public hours. There is a limit of one pass per year per member. If you would like to obtain a pass, email your name and preferred mailing address to alumni@newschool.edu and specify that you are requesting a MoMA guest pass.
