Dear Parsons Alumni,

It is always great to hear from you, and it is especially gratifying to share with the broader community of Parsons alumni good news of your accomplishments and professional activities. In this edition of RE:D Notes, we have updates from more than 100 of you—from as far back as the class of 1958 and as far away as Belgium.

This fall, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend alumni events in South Korea and Japan. It was inspiring to meet a number of alumni and especially revealing to experience the way these alumni groups have achieved real momentum, with communication channels, networking events, and special programs. We can certainly learn from them as we continually strengthen our alumni programs in other parts of the world and here in the United States. If you’re interested in being a part of these efforts, please email the Office of Alumni Relations.

The past couple of months have been quite interesting at The New School. We have been vigorously discussing and debating the ways in which we can strengthen our academic profile and better reflect the interests of faculty and students in institutional planning and decision-making. It’s an interesting moment in the evolution of our academic institution. Parsons’ commitment to providing an unparalleled educational experience remains unchanged, however. We have an extraordinary faculty, extraordinary students, and a trajectory that is every bit as strong as our legacy. Every day we hear news of Parsons students and alumni getting awards and accolades, landing impressive positions and internships, and starting compelling new projects and design-business ventures. We constantly hear from companies who want to partner with Parsons or employ our students and graduates. We are enormously proud of what Parsons is and can be, and we hope you are as well.

With best wishes for the new year,TM signatureTim Marshall
