Dear Alumni,

We are pleased to share with you our first online version of alumni notes, the supplement to RE:D magazine. It is remarkable that in this edition we have over 15 courses of study represented by more than 75 alumni spanning over 50 graduation years. The information stream is well beyond where it was even a few years ago, and nothing could please us more. Please keep your news coming.  It is always uplifting to hear of your successes.

The biggest news right now is that we are advancing our plans to begin the 2008-09 academic year with a brand new structure. We are reconfiguring our dozen programs -- which are excellent but which stand to gain from stronger structural alliances -- into five newly conceived, stronger "schools" where students can work more fluidly across disciplines. The restructuring has been in some ways a challenging administrative process, two years in the making, but at the same time, it is a very dynamic signal of the way Parsons has continually evolved to respond to, and indeed to set, the changing agenda for art and design education and the design professions. You'll read more about the new shape of the school in the fall issue of RE:D magazine. In that issue you'll also "meet" some of the remarkable new faculty who have joined Parsons for the 2008-09 academic year, and some of the great work our students and faculty - and alumni - are generating.

Parsons continues to look ahead, and I hope that wherever you are, you, too, are thriving.

Best wishes,
