Michael McKinnon, Cert. Interior Design ’05

Michael is founder, president and chief creative officer of Michael McKinnon, Inc., a full service luxury residential and contract interior design and decoration firm based in New York City. He and his work have been featured in Veranda, House Beautiful and Traditional Home, among other publications. A participant in the 2008 Kips Bay Decorator Show House, Michael has also designed centerpieces for the New York Botanical Garden’s annual Orchid Dinner benefit gala. He has been named to a select group of Franco-American designers slated to produce a tribute to Edith Wharton at The Mount in Lenox, MA in 2011 under the aegis of French design legend Andrée Putman.  Before moving into the interior design world, Michael worked in advertising and public relations. In addition to his program at Parsons, his educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and French, as well as graduate work in contemporary French politics and French literature in Paris. Michael has served as a guest critic, interviewer, and portfolio reviewer for Career Days at Parsons. He also served on the Parsons Reunion committee in 2007.
