Jahmila K. Joseph, BA Liberal Arts ’06
Jahmila Joseph currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Staff to New York City Public Advocate Bill de Blasio. Prior to working with the Office of the Public Advocate, Ms. Joseph was the Assistant Director of Political Affairs at the Council of School Supervisors and Administrators, a public labor union representing over 16,000 members working within the New York City public education system, and as the Vice President of Operations for Carl Andrews and Associates, a full-service government and community relations firm.
While a student at Eugene Lang, Ms. Joseph participated in the internship program which helped her transition her role at the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy from intern to Program Coordinator where she spent her final two years at Lang balancing a full course load with the demands of a full-time job producing and managing public programs and events.
Ms. Joseph co-owns the event management firm, Fresh Squeezed Events, which has managed and produced events for the HBO Latino Film Festival, Random House, the NAACP, and numerous elected officials. Ms. Joseph also serves on the board of Best of Brooklyn, Inc. and currently resides in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn.
