At Alumni Day 2013, New School faculty from a broad range of disciplines delivered rapid-fire, 60-second lectures on their latest work and research interests.
In his keynote speech, Nate Silver called upon all graduates to improve on the legacy of their predecessors: “Don’t do what the previous generation did,” he said, “do better.” Silver, whose statistical analysis for New York Times blog “FiveThirtyEight” caught the attention of millions during the 2012 presidential election, urged those seated before him to create new opportunity from previous generations’ failures.
