Subject: Part-Time Faculty 2008-2009 Course Availability & Solicitation Process
Date: 12/17/07

In December of 2006 we solicited our Part-time faculty teaching availability to through an on-line survey. We informed you that this survey replaces other methods of solicitation (paper and phone) used by the divisions and schools in which you have taught or would like to teach. We will use this on-line tool again as it enables The New School to have a comprehensive look at all of our Part-time Faculty and their scheduling preferences; providing Part-time Faculty maximum flexibility while giving Department Chairs across the University an opportunity to see where your interests and school need’s overlap. The deadline for entering your information is February 1st, 2008. However, as annual planning for the 08-09 academic year begins now, you are strongly encouraged to submit your preferences immediately.
Please enter the Survey Monkey tool at:
www.newschool.edu/provost/facultyavailability
Indicate your availability and preferences. To complete the survey, you will need your New School ID number (N number), which is located on your annual appointment letter and ID card. If you are not able to locate it, the survey will also accept your social security number. This survey does not have an automatic receipt function. If you’d like a record of the preferred times that you have submitted, please print the second and third page of the survey. All responses must be received by February 1st 2008.
Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to make the experience of Part-time Faculty members a seamless one that honors the UAW-ACT Collective Bargaining Agreement and uses technology to support a cohesive environment.
