Read
the final team report
New School University completed its institutional
review by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE)
in spring, 2003. MSCHE is a professional association devoted to
educational improvement through accreditation. Accreditation is
the means of self-regulation and peer review adopted by the educational
community. The accreditation process strengthens the quality and
integrity of higher education, making it worthy of public confidence
and minimizing external government control.
Parsons School of Design was reviewed by the National
Association of Schools of Art & Design (NASAD) simultaneously.
The MSCHE and NASAD teams worked together in a joint review of New
School University as a whole and Parsons in particular. NASAD added
extra members to the peer review team who will evaluate Parsons
using NASAD's specialized criteria.
In conjunction with the reaccredidation, the Provost's
office completed the Self-study Report, which addresses the university's
strengths and weaknesses and outlines its mission, goals and objectives.
This page has links to information regarding the university's
organization and progress for the self-study review and to some
documentation directly from the MSCHE and NASAD web sites. Please
take a look at this information, familiarize yourself with the process,
and periodically check back to this page for updated information.
