Preparing Your Files for Duplication
Originals should be clean with clear black type. Margins
should be clearly indicated if they are different from the artwork.
When in doubt, attach a (dummy) mock-up of the finished product.
If it is similar to a job produced in the past, send us a sample.
Indicate how the job backs up if it is two-sided, and how it folds.
White-out/correction fluid should be used sparingly and must be
free from smudges and cracks.
Photos and Graphics
Line artwork (black & white drawings) can be reproduced
clearly. Color drawings may work, but test it on a copy machine
to see if the outcome is acceptable. Results will vary depending
on the amount of detail and quality of the original. High contrast
graphics usually reproduce best. The drawing should be glued neatly
in position on your original.
We can reproduce photos with a metal plate. Indicate
the photograph's placement by using a copy placed on your original.
Be sure to indicate the photographs size and cropping. Single metal
plates for a one color job (with a photograph) are $20-$40.
Extending the image off
the Page
We can "bleed" a rule line or graphic off
the page, but limitations exist. Paste your original on a large
backing and allow the line/graphic to extend beyond the edge of
your finished trim size. This way, we have something to cut off,
and the image will not stop short of the edge. We can bleed large
solid areas on letter, legal and 11" x 17" pieces.
