JANUARY 2003

Milano Graduate School Associate Professor Mark Lipton released his book on leadership entitled Guiding Growth: How Vision Keeps Companies on Course (Harvard Business School Press).

Mannes College of Music launched its yearlong festival “The Birth of Romanticism: From Haydn to Schubert.” The festival of concerts, master classes and symposia explored musical romanticism, from its roots in the Sturm und Drang of Haydn and Mozart to its early flowering in Beethoven, Rossini and Schubert. Mannes’s young artists, distinguished faculty and special guest artists participated in the festival.

Parsons School of Design launched its M.F.A. in photography and related technologies program. A 26-month, 64-credit program that blends practice and theory, the M.F.A. is Parsons’s bold move to educate photographers about the evolving creative position of the photographer today.
