Dear Friends:
On behalf of New School Universitys Board of Trustees, I am delighted to thank all of the individuals, families,

corporations and foundations who made charitable gifts to the University last year.
Fiscal year 2002-2003 was a banner year for fundraising at New School University. Thanks to your generosity, we exceeded the Universitys fundraising goal of $24 million, raising a record of $28.6 million in gifts and pledges. Of that total, $2,807,185 was cash received for our various Annual Funds - our highest Annual Fund total ever. I would like to recognize Elliot Skip Stein, the chair of the 2002-2003 University Annual Fund, for his outstanding leadership of that effort.
In addition, increased volunteer leadership has had a great impact on our fundraising success across the University. Each division has a dedicated board of governors, and thanks to their own generous participation, as well as their efforts to engage other potential donors in the mission of the University and respective schools, leadership giving is on the rise. We look forward to seeing this trend continue.
Gifts from all donors advanced a variety of critical efforts. They provided much needed scholarship assistance to hundreds of students across the divisions, supported efforts to recruit and retain high-quality faculty members and underwrote ambitious projects to enhance campus technology and facilities. In addition, donor support made it possible for us to sustain the diverse array of public programs offered throughout the year.
New School University is shaped by remarkable people. We are extremely fortunate to have such talented students, faculty, staff and alumni, and such dedicated donors and volunteers. The commitment and generosity of this vital community help to make great things possible. On the following pages, we gratefully recognize individual, corporate and foundation donors who gave $1,000 or more to any area of the University in fiscal year 2002-2003. Again, my sincere thanks for your support.
