UNIVERSITY OFFICERS
Carol
Cantrell joined the University as Vice President for Human
Resources. She was the chief human resources officer at The Metropolitan
Museum of Art before coming to New School University. Her extensive
background in human resources includes several positions with New
York City government in the mayor's office of operations, the NYC
department of personnel and the NYC human resources administration/child
welfare administration. As Vice President for Human Resources, Ms.
Cantrell develops systems and oversees benefits, employee relations,
affirmative action and labor relations for the University. She holds
a B.A. degree from the University of Texas at El Paso. |
Shelley
Reed was promoted to Vice President for Information Services.
As Associate Vice President, Ms. Reed supervised the selection of
the SCT Banner administrative computing system and led the cross-university
implementation program. As a result, the University now has a new
administrative system in place for financial aid, registration and
records and admissions, with modules for finance and human resources.
Ms. Reed is responsible for managing local and wide-area networking,
Internet connectivity, desktop equipment installation and maintenance
and all aspects of operational support for students, faculty and staff.
She holds a B.A. from Brooklyn College. |
Doris
Suarez was appointed Secretary of the Corporation. Prior to
becoming Secretary, she served as chief of staff for Bob Kerrey. As
Secretary, she is responsible for managing the flow of business to
the Board and all of its Committees. Her office coordinates the work
of the Boards of Governors and organizes University events, such as
commencement and convocation. Before coming to New School University,
Ms. Suarez was the assistant director of the Center for Labor-Management
Policy Studies, a research center headed by Victor Gotbaum at City
University of New York, and a lecturer at John Jay College. She holds
an M. Phil. from the Graduate Center of CUNY and a B.A. from Queens
College. |
