Parsons’ highly regarded Associate in Applied Science (AAS) is a professional degree program offering an intensive course of study to motivated students who want to launch new careers, advance in their fields, or start their own businesses.
AAS students come from a remarkable range of academic and professional backgrounds. They are attorneys, marketing professionals, stockbrokers, dancers, chefs, writers, teachers, and more. These diverse students have one thing in common: They are serious about pursuing a career in design—and they come to Parsons to redirect their careers, and, by extension, their lives.
The program is best suited to students who have had some prior college experience, are clear about their interests within the world of design, and are prepared for rapid immersion in a professional course of study.
Parsons AAS instructors are industry leaders who offer valuable real-world insights into the art and business of design. Students are encouraged to enhance their education with professional internships. Recent internships include DKNY, Michael Kors, the Rockwell Group, Victoria Hagan, S. Russel Grove, Milton Glaser, Nylon magazine, Teen Vogue, Prada, J. Crew, the Gap, Vogue, and the New York Times. An AAS career advisor can assist you in this process.
Parsons makes balancing class work, homework, and internships easier by offering classes online, as well as on campus. Online classes are available 24/7 from anywhere there's a computer, a browser, and an Internet connection. The Fashion Marketing program can be completed on campus and/or online. Financial aid is available. Learn more at our Student Financial Services website or ask an admissions counselor.
Qualified applicants with valuable work and education experience may earn an associate’s degree in as little as one academic year (fall, spring and summer semesters). Find out more about the accelerated degree program.
Study online and/or on campus. Learn to develop and implement fashion merchandising and marketing strategies. You’ll analyze international business relationships as well as consumer expectations, and through projects and case studies, discover what is necessary to create and maintain a successful global fashion brand.
This online program features the same curriculum and faculty as the on campus Fashion Marketing program (described above). Fashion Marketing Online enables students who can’t come to New York and/or who work full-time to complete the degree program entirely online from anywhere.
Fluidity of fabric, superior craftsmanship of construction, and inventive silhouettes are hallmarks of the garments produced by our students. In this program, you’ll learn the process, skill, and language of fashion design—from concept through production and introduction to the market.
Study typography, design concepts, and digital technology to develop an understanding of the tradition, practice, and process of graphic design. Acquire the experience in problem solving and the application of design principles that will make you a sought-after design professional.
