What makes something truly new or original? How do you spot opportunities to create new things, services or experiences? How do you determine whether another innovation is actually a good thing? What is the history of innovation and how are innovative ideas and practices integrated into cultural practices? This course explores classic texts on entrepreneurship and innovation while also considering the role of the artist and design as an agent of change, and the nature and promise of technology in the creation of our possible future(s). Lecture/Discussion Sectionote: PParsons 2000 and 2001 must be taken together in order to qualify for credit.
