Experimental Video

PSAM 2270 | Fall 2011 | Faculty: Joan Raspo, Susan Weller

This class focuses on the creative production using the innate attributes of video: image, motion, sound, signal and time. Throughout the semester students will be introduced to challenging videos made by artists from the 1970's to the present as well as reading on the nature of video and art. Projects will concentrate on the students' creative impulse as they bring their ideas to bear using the medium of digital video. This class is ideal for students who have an interest in video as a fine art medium or students who wish to explore ideas without the constraints of a commercial purpose. Primary software used: Final Cut Pro, Adobe AfterEffects, Sound Edit.
