A graphic designer by trade, Gigi Polo indulges her artistic side through photography and painting. She completed her studies at Parsons in 2005, where she took her love of photography to the next level with the guidance of some of the best professionals in the craft. By exploring humanity and mental health, Gigi fuses art and science to express what no experiment could articulate: translating scientific findings into visual messages of human experience. Always immersed in research, her sensibility has an intuitive understanding of consciousness, imprinting uniqueness to her pieces: representations of reality "beyond the real" are impregnated with psychological meaning and revealing portrayals of emotions in everyday life. Gigi's work has been showcased in New York at Columbia University, The Art Directors Club and 5th Gear Studio, also at the Universidad Leon in Mexico City. Interested in raising awarenessand going deeper into social dynamics she actively collaborated and worked as the NY coordinator, space designer and curator of The Good News Project for two years, a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing social issues by inviting artists worldwide to create conscious awareness campaigns to be exhibited in selected venues across Serbia and Mexico City. Still maturing as an artist, Gigi fuses passion and determination in the attempt to show her audience the World as she sees it. She is the Principal and founder of Myellow Boots Studio, a New York based freelance graphic design firm. Non-profit organizations have benefited from her creative work through her volunteer work as a designer.
