Areas of interest include the history, theory and culture of design, particularly fashion and textiles, and objects. Publications include Old Clothes New Looks: Second Hand Fashion, co-edited with Alexandra Palmer (2005), and articles in a number of scholarly and professional journals including Design Issues, Design and Management Journal. A contributing editor to Design Philosophy Papers.
